NAIOP Tampa Bay members had several key meetings during the annual visit to Capitol Hill in Tallahassee. They discussed growth management and workforce housing with Senator Mike Bennett (R-Bradenton), Chair of the Community Affairs Committee. Greg Krasovski, Senior Policy Advisor for Senate President Tom Lee (R-Brandon), met with NAIOP members for more than thirty minutes. Eminent domain was the topic during the meeting with Matthew Bahl, legislative assistant to Representative Trey Traviesa (R-Brandon) - a member of the House Select Committee to Protect Private Property Rights.
NAIOP members also asked for legislative support of the repeal of joint & several liability. The Legislature passed the bill ten days later.
