NAIOP members from around the state traveled to Tallahassee, February 18 and 19, for the annual "Day at the Capitol". On the 19th, NAIOP members met with senators, representatives, and legislative aides from their local chapter area. During the meetings, they discussed NAIOP's 2002 "core issues" including growth management, transportation infrastructure funding, and building security.

The NAIOP of Florida - PAC hosted a Tuesday breakfast at the Governors Club. Four legislators were honored for their support of commercial real estate development: Senator Ginny Brown-Waite (R-Brooksville) Senator Lee Constantine (R-Altamonte Springs) Representative Ralph Arza (R-Hialeah) Representative Mike Hogan (R-Jacksonville).
