For the second year in a row, NAIOP Tampa Bay hosted the mayors of the three major local communities. Mayor Rick Baker welcomed attendees from NAIOP, BOMA, IREM, and CREW to the Renaissance Vinoy Hotel in St. Petersburg on January 27. Tampa's Mayor, Pam Iorio, participated for a second consecutive year, like Mr. Baker. They were joined by the new Mayor of Clearwater, Frank Hibbard.

Rhea Law of the Fowler White law firm moderated the discussion between the three mayors. They covered topics ranging from transportation to public-private partnerships and Florida Hometown Democracy to re-development initiatives.

Clearwater's Mayor Hibbard had the quote of the day and generated applause when he said, "Trying to solve transportation problems by adding lanes to our roads is like trying to solve obesity by letting out your belt."
