2005 Day at the Capitol
In a session with many bills
affecting commercial real estate development, the Tampa Bay Chapter
was well-represented during NAIOP's annual "Day at the Capitol.
The participants were:
President-Elect Robin Bishop of Bishop & Associates
First Vice President Chuck Carver of the Ward Rovell Law Firm
Co-VP of Public Affairs Carol Scheafnocker of TLC Engineering for
Architecture
Duane Milford of EMK Consultants of Florida
Mark Wanich of Stewart Title Guaranty
The NAIOP of Florida Board of
Directors met in Tallahassee on March 21. Tom Bisacquino and Steve
Gallagher from the national headquarters joined with the NAIOP
members from around the state and participated in discussions of
growth management and the Florida Hometown Democracy ballot
initiative.
The next day, the NAIOP Tampa Bay
members had a dozen meetings with state legislators and their key
aides. The members presented NAIOP's positions on growth management,
streamlined sales tax, constitutional amendment process reform, and
more issues.
