Join NAIOP Tampa Bay for an exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour of LifeLink Foundation's corporate headquarters and the largest not-for-profit tissue bank in the Southeast. Both buildings are Best of the Best award winners - the Corporate Headquarters in 2014 and the Tissue Bank in 2010. During the event, you will be able to tour the state-of-the-art Tissue Bank, where human bone & tissue (called "allografts") are recovered, processed, packaged and stored. This high-tech facility requires that all personnel, tissue and equipment travel in a uni-directional pattern with the air pressure in the rooms and hallways calibrated to prevent the backflow of contaminated air, resulting in air quality that exceeds the requirements for hospital operating rooms. You will also see the newly completed 81,000sf Corporate Headquarters serving Florida, Georgia and much of the Caribbean.
Did you know? Approximately 123,289 Americans are currently on the transplant waiting list and one organ and tissue donor can save 8 people's lives and help 50 others. In 2014:
- LifeLink Organ Procurement Organizations recovered 1,646 organs for transplantation.
- LifeLink Tissue Bank placed 44,545 tissue allografts for transplantation.
- LifeLink Transplantation Immunology Laboratory preformed pre-transplant tests on 1,931 potential patients.
